A token gets bridged to Solana. It exists onchain. That should mean it's tradable.
Most of the time, it isn't.
The bridge did its job. The asset moved. But the market didn't: no depth or meaningful volume. The asset is a ghost. This is the illusion bridges create: by solving the transfer, they make it look like the whole problem is solved.
A bridge moves assets between chains. But it doesn't create markets, coordinate liquidity, or handle distribution. There is a structural problem at play here: asset arrival and market formation are different problems.
A bridge takes an asset on Chain A and creates a representation of it on Chain B, whether through wrapping, locking, messaging, or any other cryptographically secure mechanism. To date, Wormhole has moved $70 billion across chains. Stargate, Hyperlane, Axelar — there are many proven bridges. The mechanics of asset transfer are solved.
But when a token arrives via bridge, three things do NOT automatically happen:
The bridge moves the asset. Everything else is someone else's problem.
When a token is bridged through multiple paths, it exists (confusingly) as multiple assets: same underlying token, separate smart contract addresses.
Establishing asset canonicality therefore matters. On Ethereum, for example, USDC by Circle has one address. Everyone knows it. One market forms.
On Solana, without coordination, a bridged token might have three addresses. One wrapping gets $50K in depth. Another gets $10K. Another gets nothing. None of them have real market depth.
Users see three versions and don't know which to buy. Liquidity providers don't know which to seed. The asset becomes a trivia question, not a tradable market.
Sunrise was founded to solve this problem for new and established assets arriving on Solana.
Historically, tokens bridged to Solana without coordinated market formation have landed with day-one volumes in the low six figures, even for established assets with significant market cap on their home chains. The bridge worked. The market didn't form.
Compare that to Sunrise-coordinated launches, where bridging, liquidity seeding, and ecosystem integration happen in parallel:
The difference between coordinated and uncoordinated launches is consistently two orders of magnitude. Same bridge technology. Completely different outcomes.
Bridges move assets. Sunrise coordinates arrival, liquidity, and distribution as a unified operation, in parallel across three domains:
By the time trading opens, the market exists. Four launches, consistent results.
As real-world assets, including stocks, commodities, bonds, move onchain, they face the same structural problem. A bridge can move a stock's onchain representation. Without a market behind it, the representation is worthless.
Infrastructure that only solves transfer is inadequate. The full problem — arrival, liquidity, and distribution — needs to be solved together. That coordination makes the difference between a bridge and an asset gateway.
Sunrise is the asset gateway for Solana. It coordinates arrival, liquidity formation, and ecosystem distribution in parallel, enabling new onchain assets to launch with real, tradable markets from day one. Learn more at sunrise.xyz.
